Bogor is located some 45 minutes south of Jakarta's city center and is the gateway to the Puncak (The Peak), a popular weekend mountain retreat for Jakarta people and once the cradle of the Dutch East Indies tea culture. Even today, many of the former Dutch tea plantations are still in operation while one of the oldest tea factories in the country can be visited on any given day.

In the Bogor and pre-Puncak highlands of Sentul, as many as 10 golf courses can be played. All of these courses are located within half an hour (30 min.) from each other.
